Inventory #9 – Eyeshadows

eyeshadows jan2013

Well.  This is the mother load.  I love eyeshadow.  It’s definitely my biggest weakness.

UD Naked – Love this.  I don’t use it that often, but whenever I do, I’m reminded of how much I love it.  I still want the Naked2, but I’m unwilling to buy it.
Verdict: Keep

UD 15th Anniversary – Also love this.  It’s a gorgeous palette, and I’m so glad I got this while it was available.
Verdict: Keep

UD Deluxe Shadow Box – Love this one too.  This was one of my first palettes.  It’s on sale at urbandecay.com for a fantastic price of $16.
Verdict: Keep

UD Black – I don’t love this as much as I want to.  Actually, I think their newer Smoked palette is what I wanted this to be.  Still, it’s nice to have in my stash.
Verdict: Keep

theBalm Shady Lady – I bought all three of the Shady Lady palettes not too long ago, and I have yet to use them much.  I’ll get on that.
Verdict: Keep

theBalm Shady Lady vol. 2 – A cult classic.  Everyone and their mom loves this palette.
Verdict: Keep

theBalm Shady Lady vol. 3 – I haven’t used this at all yet.  I don’t even know what the colors are.  Ha.
Verdict: Keep

Red Z palette: Mostly singles.  UD Chronic, UD Electric, UD Narcotic, UD Purple Haze, UD Green Goddess, UD Vert, UD Acid Rain, UD Aquarius, UD S&M, three shadows from The Body Shop Holiday palette from ages ago.
Also UD shadows from palettes I plan to give away: UD Uzi, UD Midnight Cowboy, UD MCRA, UD Snatch, UD Grifter, UD Perversion*, UD Goddess*.
*Already gave to my mom.

Leopard Z palette: Depotted UD palettes.  Book of Shadows, Book of Shadows vol.2, UD <3 NYC and UD Ammo.  I’ve given my duplicate shadows to my mom or sister, or they’re waiting for new homes.  What I have left:
BoS – Perversion, Mayhem, Baked, Sidecar, Gridlock, Shakedown, Roach, Scandal, Absinthe, Protest
BoS vol. 2 – Ecstasy, AC/DC, Nylon, Sellout, Mushroom, Sphynx, Twice Baked, YDK, Jinx, Flipside, Homegrown, Misdemeanor
UD <3 NYC – Loaded, Kush, Rockstar, Money, Smog, Bordello, Suspect, Psychedelic Sister, Haight, Radim
UD Ammo – Smog, Maui Wowie, Mildew, Shattered, Oil Slick, Polyester Bride, Last Call, Grifter, Chopper, Sin
I have 3 Smogs.  I’m pretty sure I’ve given one away to my mom already, too.  But the bizarre thing is, in the pan, they all look slightly different from one another.
Also, I’ve kept all the shadows from the Ammo palette for sentimental reasons.  It was my first UD palette. :3

Zebra Z palette – Trios and duos.  I’ve since moved the three singles, Stila’s Kitten, Lamé and Chloe to the Red Z palette.  Anyway, this is Smashbox trios: Twilight, Panorama, On Stage, Shutterspeed, Microfilm, Viewfinder, Girls Night Out.  Cargo duos from the Mediterranean and Safari sets.  L’Oreal HiP duo in Electrified, Smashbox duos in Blend and Contour.  Not giving any of these away.

Black Z palette – Cargo Hands of Hope palette, theBalm Shady Lady in Sexy Stacey (it cracked a lot so I’ve lost about half of the shadow), Smashbox Serpent, MAC Love Lace, The Body Shop Amethyst, Velvet Green, Midnight Blue, The Body Shop eye shimmer in Silver and Green.

Pink Z palette – Depotted Kat Von D palettes: Beethoven, True Love, Memento Mori.  Wet n Wild Color Icon Singles in Kitten, Envy and Nutty.  I’ve since depotted the Too Faced Matte Eye palette and put it in here as well (I rearranged the KVD palettes sideways instead.)

theBalm Nude ‘Tude palette – I really like this palette.  It’s different enough from the Naked palette to justify having it.
Verdict: Keep

Smashbox Muse – This has somehow become one of my go-to palettes.  It was neglected for a year or so, but I’ve started using it a lot more (one of the shades is my browbone highlight color).
Verdict: Keep

Smashbox Reign: Monarch – Admittedly, I don’t use this palette much, but the packaging is gorgeous and therefore hard for me to let go.
Verdict: Keep

Sleek MakeUP i-Divine in Storm – I bought this in London when I visited Albert in February 2012.  Really nice color selection.
Verdict: Keep

NYX Bohemian Rhapsody – Okay, I bought this mainly for the name.  It’s a nice neutral palette, but the color payoff isn’t as good as I’d like it to be.  I’m going to let it go.
Verdict: Give Away

Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon trio in Walking on Eggshells – I throw this in my on-the-go makeup bag when I need to put on a face outside of my apartment.  It’s pretty.
Verdict: Keep

Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon 8-pan in Comfort Zone – Another beauty blogger favorite.  I love this palette.  The colors are a bit on the frosty side, but the pigmentation is really awesome, and it’s $5!
Verdict: Keep

MUFE Rock For Ever – At one point this was one of my favorite palettes.  I still really like it.  The packaging is pretty awesome.
Verdict: Keep

Too Faced Matte Eye – I like this palette, but as a complement to other palettes.  I tried some of the all-matte looks that were suggested, but I don’t really like them.  Also, I’ve depotted this into one of my Z palettes.
Verdict: Keep

Kat Von D Metal Orchestra – I don’t like this as much as I want to.  I like a couple colors, but I just don’t wear blues very well.  This was actually depotted, but I had kept the packaging because I thought about giving it away and when I decided to, I glued them back in.  Haha!
Verdict: Give Away

Kat Von D Gypsy – Gorgeous palette.  The greens are beautiful.
Verdict: Keep

Kat Von D Rock ‘n’ Roll – This was a Sephora 500 point perk… but I don’t love it.  It’s just okay.
Verdict: Give Away

Sephora Mauve Yet! – A friend gave this to me for my birthday.  I think I would probably like it if I didn’t have such a large collection already.
Verdict: Give Away

Too Faced Galaxy in Moon Beam and Deep Space – These are actually rather pretty shadows when you can pick up color and not just sooty black.  Still, they’re too similar to the colors in the UD Black palette to justify keeping around.
Verdict: Give Away

Urban Decay Stardust in Bobby Dazzle, 54, Retrograde and Atmosphere – I really like the Stardust shadows.  They’re not pigmented enough on their own, but layered on top other shadows, I think they’re stunning.  Bobby Dazzle is crumbly though, and it’s annoying.
Verdict: Keep

The Body Shop baked shadow in Moonstone (?) – Too lazy to go check what the name is.  I like it, it’s pretty.
Verdict: Keep

Urban Decay Deluxe Singles in Adore, Frigid and Ruthless – My favorite of the three is Ruthless, by far.  There’s a dancing dinosaur and a robot on the cover!  And um, I love the color too. :P  I kind of wish I hadn’t bought Adore, because I never use it, but I’m not willing to part with it yet.
Verdict: Keep

MAC Venomous Villains baked shadow in My Dark Magic – Don’t use it a lot, but man is it pretty.
Verdict: Keep

VS Sparkle (I have no idea if that’s what it’s actually called, but whatever) in Fierce – I had Jackie buy this for me when she still worked at VS.  It’s kinda dry and patchy.  Haven’t figured out how to work with it yet.  Still undecided if it stays or goes.
Verdict: Maybe

Conclusion: I’m insane.  I know.  I’ve since added to this collection, mostly in the form of loose shadows and a few more things from Urban Decay.  The UD stuff were birthday presents, though. :P  I’ll do a separate inventory for the loose shadows.

It’s so hard for me to let go of my eyeshadows! I’m going to need to be much more ruthless because I’m planning to move halfway across the world in about a year’s time… Eeek! :S
