Inventory #4 – Lip balms

lip balms jan2013

I wasn’t going to include an inventory of my lip balms, but if I’m counting the ones I finish as empties, you might as well see how many I have to go through.  I’m keeping all of these, btw.

Apple lip balm – given to me by my friend Joce while she was in Japan.  The packaging is too cute. :3

Frankenstein’d lip balm – This is how thorough/stingy I am: remember the empty lip balms from December?  Well, I dug out the bits I could no longer reach and melted them all together.  So this is part Fresh Sugar, part Fresh Sugar Rose, part eos, and part Burt’s Bees Rose.  It’s kinda weird and waxy, but whatever.

The Body Shop lip butter in Pink Grapefruit – I really like this one.  This is actually a backup.  It’s a bit too light for really cold and dry weather, though.  When I was in London, I had Albert hold it for me in his pocket, and it MELTED.  So it’s kinda squished to one side now.

Burt’s Bees lip shimmer in Fig – I bought this as a set with the tinted lip balm.  More on that later.

Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in Red Dahlia – I like these tinted lip balms.  They’re not as heavy as the Fresh ones, but for a third of the price, they’re a nice substitute.

Not pictured: Burt’s Bees Replenishing lip balm with Pomegranate Oil – It didn’t show up for roll call because it was hiding in one of my bags.

Missing: Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm in Hibiscus – I bought this because it was on clearance at Target.  Now I can’t find it anywhere.  Argh.

I personally find the Fresh ones more moisturizing, but I just can’t bring myself to spend $22 on a lip balm when the Burt’s Bees is like $7.

There’s quite a bit of product left over in the tube when you can’t reach it with your lips anymore! I just dig it out with a spatula, pop them in a tiny jar with the rest of the leftovers and heat it in the microwaves for a few seconds. :)
