I wanted to start with what I have the least of, so I trick myself into thinking I’m not such a hoarder.  I have four categories: Keep, Maybe, Give Away, and Toss

NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Bettina – I got this as part of a set.  I’ve used it a few times, and sharpened it once, maybe twice.  It looks almost exactly like my natural lip color, but not in a “my-lips-but-better” way.  It adds a hint of shimmer, that’s about it.
Verdict: Maybe

Tarte LipSurgence natural matte lip tint in Exposed – my friend Julia gave this to me when she purchased the Tarte holiday set this past year.  She claims nude colors look awful on her.  On me, this looks almost exactly like the NARS pencil, minus the shimmer.  I literally just swatched them side by side, on my lower lip.  I do like the minty tingle the Tarte pencil has, though, and that it’s a twist up pencil (no need for sharpening!).
Verdict: Maybe

Tarte LipSurgence natural matte lip tint in Fiery – This was part of the Sephora 500-point beauty perk with Tarte about six months ago.  I love this color.  It’s super flattering.
Verdict: Keep

Buxom Big and Healthy lip stick in Monte Carlo – I don’t use this one much, but I do like the color a lot.  I also like that it’s a twist up pencil as well, and there’s a sharpener in the end cap.
Verdict: Keep

Smashbox Sheer lip pencil in Smashing Nude – This is a perfect nude lip liner for me.  That being said, I’ve only used it a few times.  I’m still going to keep it, though.
Verdict: Keep

Urban Decay 24/7 lip liner in Wicked – Love this color and the formula.
Verdict: Keep

Urban Decay 24/7 lip liner in Ozone – This clear lip liner is supposed to prevent lip color from bleeding.  I can’t tell if I’m drawing straight lines with it, though.
Verdict: Keep

Lancome Le Crayon lip contour in Cherie – Another twist up pencil.  Pretty color.
Verdict: Keep

Prestige lip liner in Amore – My one red lip liner.  Definitely keeping this.  It was also a steal; I bought it when it was on sale for 40% off.  It was like $2.
Verdict: Keep

Prestige lip liner in Poppy – I bought this during the same sale.  It goes with my Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango lipstick that was all the rage last year.
Verdict: Keep

Prestige waterproof lip liner in Diva – Great formula and color and cheap too!
Verdict: Keep

NYX lip liner pencil in Purple Rain – I also bought this on sale at Don Quijote, because I wanted to try a makeup look by Jesse J in her Domino video (I still haven’t sorted through the pictures of that yet).  It was really cheap and it works well.  Unique color.
Verdict: Keep

NYX Long Pencil lip (liner) in Prune – I bought this to mix with Purple Rain, so I could get a closer color match, but this pencil is not as good as the shorter one.
Verdict: Maybe/Toss

Conclusion: I don’t have that many lip pencils, which is reassuring.  I think I have enough color variety to have all my bases covered.  The two that I’m hemming and hawing over are the two too similar NARS and Tarte pencils.  I might just toss the NYX Long Pencil, because it’s waxy and hard to work with and there are very little occasions in which I need such a dark purple lip liner.
