Just a quick post today. To continue my London themed (ehh, sorta) nails, here’s a swatch of butter LONDON Thames. Their description: “A soft, blue-green nail lacquer, with just a tiny undercurrent of gold. Much like a dip in the Thames; it’s not a lacquer for the faint hearted, but you will be remembered for it. The often mispronounced river that runs through London. It’s “Tims”, you crazy Yanks!” I think this is a Macy’s exclusive color, for the US anyway.
This is a gorgeous emerald green. It reminds me of summer and Christmas simultaneously. Don’t ask me why. To me, it’s such a decadent color. For example, I’d love to have a satin dress in this color. You know, to wear to all those black-tie affairs I get invited to all the time. Obviously.
I had a hard time accurately capturing the color on camera, though. Well, I’ll be honest: I find it challenging to capture any color on camera correctly. I think Thames really comes to life in direct sunlight. You still can’t see the true depth of the green, but I promise, in person, the “tiny undercurrent of gold” really sings.
Lastly, I’d like to mention this article that Albert emailed me this morning: The Olympic Manicure: Why Nail Art Has Gone Mainstream at London 2012. Even if you’re not a beauty nerd like me, perhaps you’ve noticed the ladies sporting really cute patriotic manis to their events? I think it’s a really nice personal touch in a strictly regulated uniform policy. (Let’s just ignore Ryan Lochte’s blinged out US flag grill. I can’t even.) Plus, I love catching a glimpse of their manis; it’s kinda like spotting an Easter egg in a movie or video game. :P

I really need to try butter London soon! I’ve been eyeing some shades forever but still haven’t made a move if you can believe that! I also loved the manis of some Olympians. They were beyond cool!
Ohhh, you really, really should! I just saw some swatches of their fall collection, and I NEED that silver holographic. It’s so gorgeous. *grabby hands*
