In early July, during a weekend sidewalk sale at the mall and an employee appreciation extra discount event at Macy’s, I bought nine new nail polishes. All in one go. I looked at my stash afterwards and realized that of the polishes I bought so far this year, some I had barely used, and some of them I hadn’t even swatched yet.
So, I’m going to start a massive swatch fest, beginning with Zoya’s Pinterest Trio. A couple months ago, Zoya had a Pinterest contest in which fans would pin their favorite colors from their Beach & Surf summer collection. When the votes were tallied, these three puppies had won, and Zoya then offered a mini set of the trio for FREE. All you had to do was enter the promo code and pay for shipping.
I’ve never tried Zoya, but have always heard good things. Of course, as soon as I heard about it, I rushed over and snagged one before they were gone (there were only 2000 available).

From L to R: Myrta, Zuza, Kimber
The bottles are pretty generously sized, bigger than my Sephora by OPI minis. The colors that won are Myrta (a burnt orange copper), Zuza (blue green shimmer), and Kimber (a bright pink). These photos were taken all on different days, so the lighting isn’t consistent (although excluding Kimber, they were all taken in the same location).
This is a very flattering bright pink with subtle gold shimmer. Zoya describes it as “Rich, bright and saturated medium magenta pink with strong gold metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish.” This is my favorite of the three. The gold shimmer is so lovely and the color reminds me of a watermelon Jolly Rancher (my favorite flavor)!
It’s an ocean blue green color. Zoya’s description: “Deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish.” It looks close to a color I already own, Sephora by OPI’s Mermaid to Order. So I swatched them side by side for color comparison. Zuza is slightly brighter and less yellow. Also, Mermaid to Order is a metallic, while Zuza is a shimmer.

Another thing worth noting: when I swatched Zuza with my usual Sally Hansen base and top coat, the tips started chipping and peeling almost immediately. Sephora’s formula held up considerably better.
“Warm medium orange coral with red undertone, gold and silver metallic shimmer, and a foil-like finish.” This is my least favorite color. It’s not particularly flattering on me, and it’s not inspiring or interesting to me in the bottle. However, after the anomaly of Zuza chipping, I swatched this one with Zoya’s Anchor and Armor base and top coat and had no problems with peeling or chipping.
Overall, I think this set was a generous offer from Zoya as the bottles are large for minis and the colors are perfect for summer. My base and top coat issue was isolated to Zuza only, as I swatched the other two with Sally Hansen and they were fine. Again, my favorite out of the three is Kimber, and I don’t even particularly like the color pink!
The entire Beach and Surf collection is still available on Zoya’s website. I also recommend following Zoya’s blog, as they often run really good promotions and deals!
Have you ever tried Zoya? Did you snag the Pinterest trio? What about the other colors in the Beach and Surf collection?

I have some Zoya and my favorite is probably Yara from last autumn! I always need the friend who lives in the US to drag them back though. Zoya is so painfully unavailable (and expensive) in Belgium!
That must suck! I want to move to England within the next year to be with my boyfriend, and the beauty nerd in me worries about not finding some of my favorite brands there. :P But then again, there’s the fun and excitement of trying and finding something new!
Oh but there are definitely way more brands available in the UK compared with Belgium. The market is too small here, so a lot of brands couldn’t be bothered!
Boo… I guess you have to make lots of international friends, eh? :P
these colours are amazing.
And I love blue the most!
